Busy Bees

We have been enjoying some fine Indian Summer weather this week and it has allowed us to be busy, busy, busy outside. The leaves are almost all down now, so soon the raking will begin. But first, the deck must be cleaned and then coated with the sealer and it has been the perfect week to do it.

We are not the only busy ones outside. My late blooming mum (now pretty much the only flowers left) have attracted quite a bevy of bees the last few days. I have to keep a close eye on Lillian as she closely examines this plant every time she goes by it. She sees those bees and would like to grab them!

And look, isn't Lillian so helpful. Here she is trying to shake the leaves off the lilac.

And then she is ready to sweep up the leaves.

And finally, she was ready to set these seeds free as only a child can. Or maybe she is going to eat them.

So fun in the garden with small children. She will be a great gardener just like her parents. Shaking the leaves off is a big help. Glad to hear you and Lillian have been busy as bees. Looks cold up there:) It is coming here. Have a super great day!

Gardening is so much more fun when you have a little helper like this:)

My bees have all left the garden, and colder temps and rain are on their way, so soon I will have LOTS of raking to do, as well.

So cute!

I remember those days when my son was little (he's now 24). Autumn leaf raking was actually fun!

Hi Tina ~ Actually we have been enjoying a warm snap. But it is to end soon. Lillian is cute but when I let her run around I don't get any work done :) She is too interested in everything to stay put.

Rose ~ I was happily surprised to find the bees buzzing away on the mum. I'm sure they'll be gone just as quick as they appeared though.

Cameron ~ She makes the littlest tasks more fun because I get to see her wonder at the mundane :)

Cindy, She is so adorable, huggable and sweet! Don't you just want to hug her all the time! She is a busy little toddler and they have the energy of the hard working bees! Zipping from place to place!

What a beautiful mum! We still have a good fall display here, but the leaves are drifting down and it won't be long until there are only evergreens, twigs, and berries. Dear little Lillian! A new generation of gardeners in the making! Thank heavens the bees refrained from stinging her, so she could adore the bugs as well as the plants with no unhappy memories to spoil the effect!

Gail ~ Yes she is my busy little bee. And she gets lots of hugs, I don't think it's possible that you could ever get too many though.

OFB ~ I had to be quick in pulling her away from that mum, it was covered in bees and she tried to grab them several times. In her defense, they did look like soft, furry toys :)

Hi Cindy, what an angel working so hard beside you. Really involved in the wildlife going on around her. Lucky you and her for your outside time together. And that was nice of the bees to not sting her. ;->

Frances ~ We are lucky to be having many nice days this week so she can be enjoying the outside before the cold rain comes. And it was very nice of the bees not to sting her. Of course it was nice of her not to squish the bees ;-)

She is just the cutest. I love that she's trying to be a grown-up with that rake. Ah the innocence of childhood. She is so cute!

HHG ~ Yes I hope she learns how wonderful gardening can be.

Anna ~ Thank you!!!

Fern ~ She has all the style in our family :) Baby clothes are the cutest!

DP ~ She loves to imitate adults. You'll get a kick out of this, she always goes to the cabinet where we keep the cat's canned food, she takes out a can, and puts the entire can over in his dish. It's hilarious!
